South Tahoe High School is located in the Sierra Nevada Mountains near the Nevada State Line in South Lake Tahoe, California. It is the only comprehensive high school on the California side of the South Shore. South Tahoe High School is a California Distinguished School and is accreditied by the Western Association of School and Colleges. We offer a wide variety of classes from core subjects to AP and Career Technical Education Classes. STHS participates in the University of California ELC (Eligibility In Local Context) program. Registration for 2008-2009
Registration for the 2008-2009 School Year has begun at South Tahoe High for grades 10-12. Next year, STHS will be on the 4X4 schedule with students having the opportunity to take 8 courses in the school year. The first step in the registration process is to develop course request lists. Counselors will be meeting individually with students in their English and Social Science Classes during the week of March 11-18. If students do not have one of those classes this term, they may make
individual appointments with their counselor in the Counseling Office

South Tahoe High School will begin it's annual testing in May of 2008. This testing period we will be administering California State Tests in English/Language Arts, Math, Social Science and Science, the California High School Exit Exam for 12 graders, the No Child Left Behind Science Test to 10th Graders and 11 AP Tests in varying subjects. A special schedule will be in place for the CST testing during May. However, school will continue to begin and end at the regular times. There are no minimum days scheduled for testing.
